Let’s start by stating that both these balls are very good and are very popular among volleyball players worldwide.

However, what are the difference and similarities?

Both balls have the same color, the same method is used to glue the panels, they both have 18 panels and the weight is identical (both balls weigh 2850 g).

Players have claimed that one ball is actually larger than the other, but official resources state that they are identical in size (65-67cm).

The materials used are the same, this is original microfiber + PU material. However, the exact combination seems to be slightly different because the v200w does have a slightly different touch.

So what are the differences between the v200w and v300w?

To start, there is a price difference. The v200w is slightly more expensive than the v300w. However, both balls are relatively pricey.

There is also a difference in the surface. The v300w uses a single dimpled surface while the v200w uses a double dimpled surface.

The single dimpled surface should minimize the air resistance to maximize the grip power of the ball surface.

On the other hand, the double dimple’s main focus is to stabilize the flight path of the ball and create additional cushioned ball control.

Indeed, the v200w does feel slightly more stable than the v300w. Also, the v200w does have a softer and more pleasant touch.

The v200w is used in many competitions at the highest level. Whereas, the v300w is used very often for training at the highest level. At slightly lower levels, the v300w can also be used as a match ball, because it really isn’t far behind the v200w.
